Teresa Palmer In Emilio Pucci – “I Am Number Four” LA Premiere

For a relative newcomer Teresa Palmer is working the big names on the red carpet.

Last night she wore an Emilio Pucci Spring 2011 dress to her “I Am Number Four” LA Premiere.

Whilst Dianna opted for elegance, Teresa showed off her sexy side wearing this black backless dress with a thigh-high slit.

With her hair swept to the side she didn’t over accessorize her embroidered and embellished dress, as she just added a Christian Louboutin Larissa sandals and a black clutch to complete her look.

I prefer her look over Dianna’s, but I do wish Teresa had pulled her hair back.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Jessica Alba In Balmain & Katy Perry In Zuhair Murad Couture

    It’s a double tie.

Most of us couldn’t separate the adorable Jessica Alba in her bad girl Balmain dress, from bad girl Katy Perry in her adoreable Zuhair Murad Couture dress.

Jessica and Katy have been neck and neck all weekend, proving that you loved them switching up their looks as much as I did.

It looks like you aren’t quite o.v.e.r. Balmain’s bold shoulders, and even if Katy’s dress does gives you toothache you can still appreciate how great she looks.

Next up Pre-Emmy Awards parties followed by the main event.

Badgley Mischka Sticks To The Formula

Let’s say you had to come up with some sort of visual formula for unimpeachable Hollywood glamour. It might look something like this: Annie(L) x A-List (+Huston/Hutton) = HG². Mark Badgley and James Mischka apparently utilized some of that glittery applied math in their new ad campaign commemorating their 20th anniversary. Shot by Annie Leibovitz at Paramount Studios, the ad features the five-decade-spanning generational tableau of Carrie Underwood, Eva Longoria, Brooke Shields, Lauren Hutton, and Anjelica Huston, posed with the designers in their snappy uniforms of black blazers and jeans. If the image seems a touch familiar, it’s because Leibovitz seems to have borrowed her icon-making Vanity Fair template for the job. But hey, what says Hollywood glamour more than the glossy that controls the hottest Oscar after-party? At any rate, the gowned-up actresses (and pop star) all look quite lovely—though Huston appears to be holding her breath. That quintet joins Julia Roberts, Kate Winslet, and Catherine Zeta-Jones in the Badgley Mischka club. And bonus anniversary lightning round: Who was the first actress to wear Badgley to the Oscars? It was Winona Ryder in 1996. Sigh, for so many reasons.—Meenal Mistry

Damien Hirst’s Art Collection—Now In Dress Form

The family that rents together, sticks together. So Maia Norman borrowed her partner Damien Hirst’s bookstore/gallery, The Other Criteria, on London’s New Bond Street, emptied it out and, voilà, an instant pop-up for her own clothing line, Mother of Pearl. “Business is booming in every corner of the world, Colette and others like that can’t get enough of us, but we don’t have a London stockist—ironic, isn’t it?” Norman deadpanned. “This was the perfect way to bring the collection to the city, see what the public wants and what they respond to.”If last night’s opening cocktail was any indication, they’re responding quite well. An A-list crowd came out to celebrate at the shop (wrapped in vinyl for the occasion), including co-host Hirst (in a suit, no less), the Clash’s Paul Simonon, Moda Operandi’s Yasmin Sewell, Mary Charteris (above right), and model Sara Blomqvist (above left, with Norman, center, all in Mother of Pearl). Guest DJ and good buddy Jarvis Cocker manned the decks. Even Norman’s collaborator of the season, reclusive artist Jim Lambie, showed up. (”Actually,” Norman says, “he is not as reclusive as he is shy.”) “It stimulates in a different way,” Lambie said of seeing his prints—wildflowers, duct tape, and, no joke, eyeballs—on fabrics like nappa leather and washable silk, rather than on gallery walls. “It is much more evocative because it places itself directly onto the body. It becomes the body in many ways; it reinterprets our understanding of the body. It’s shape, movement, and overall sex appeal.”Artistry, for obvious reasons, is part of Mother of Pearl’s DNA, but equally important is freedom of movement. “The clothes have to be easy,” says Norman, famed for her love of danger sports, like motocross, riding, and boarding. (Earlier in the week she was surfing in Devon with her new toy: a heated wetsuit.) “I need things to be unrestricted as I am always on the move, but the clothes have to be interesting as well. That’s why Jim Lambie was an easy choice for us. Damien has been collecting him for years, and he was part of our circle, so to speak. I had been loving his works for years now, seeing it in galleries, and then the next thing was just to convince him to do it. I think the results really excited him.”Speaking of exciting: good to know whom Damien Hirst is collecting. And now on New Bond Street, a Lambie can be yours—at a fraction of the price.

2010 Toronto Film Festival – Rosamund Pike In Alexander McQueen, Lanvin & Erdem

Rosamund Pike’s 2010 Toronto Film Festival adventure started with the “Barney’s Version” Cocktail Party at Grey Goose Soho House Club.

The British actress wore an Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2010 black dress.

Her wool crepe pencil dress had Celtic embroidered pieces of lace inserted over a flesh silk georgette panel for a beautiful neckline detail.

Her dress is a tad shorter than the models which I much prefer on the young actress.

She paired her dress with an Alexander McQueen skull clasp clutch and black Sergio Rossi peep-toes.

For her “Made In Dagenham” Premiere she wore a cap sleeve dark metallic gold Lanvin dress with a black grosgrain belt.

I love the accessories excluding the clutch which feels too forced.

I need that necklace in my life.

My second favourite look after Pike’s McQueen dress was the Erdem Fall 2010 ensemble she wore to “The Variety Studio At Holt Renfrew.”

The look included a black Erdem ruffle bib sleeveless top with a floral print skirt.

Her runway look was paired again with her black Sergio Rossi peep-toes and just got out of bed hair.

    Moore, Shields, Lam: Viva Italia!

Seeing that tomorrow marks the start of Milan fashion week, it was fitting to hear all present last night at the Tod’s U.S. launch of limited-edition book Italian Touch wax eloquent about the wonders of the sole boot-shaped member of the E.U. Julianne Moore, for starters, was still in a Mediterranean state of mind, having just returned from Venice, where her film (and Tom Ford’s directorial debut!) A Single Man debuted. “I was so struck by how natural everybody is and all the beautiful families,” said Moore, who made up for the absence of the real Tuscan sun in a dazzling gold Derek Lam frock topped with a black blazer. “It’s just so unforced and lovely and simple.” While Brooke Shields, who set off her body-skimming black dress with a pair of strappy Tod’s sandals and a purple clutch, was quick to claim her Italian heritage. “What comes out of Italy is the passion. Whatever they do, it really kind of comes from the gut,” said Shields, who recently traveled to Rome to trace her family’s genealogy. “That’s my dad’s side. But I’ve got Newark on the other side. Newark and Rome!” Tod’s creative director Derek Lam kept his praise pithy for both the country and the book’s lavish collection of images that capture the elegant ease with which Italians do just about everything. Remarked Lam, “It’s all about sensuality.”—Liz McDaniel

2010 Venice Film Festival “La Passione” Premiere – Noomi Rapace In Balmain

I’m sure many of you have been longing to see this Balmain Fall 2010 dress on the red carpet.

It was worn by Noomi Rapace for the “La Passione” Premiere during the 2010 Venice Film Festival on Saturday night.

“The Girl Who Played with Fire” Swedish actress donned the bold shoulder long sleeved mini dress with lackluster heels.

I’m guessing she didn’t want the look to be too edgy, therefore she compromised on the heels.

I’m liking the dress both with and without the belt.

    With gives more definition.

Without doesn’t break up the gold floral beaded pattern.

    Just Cavalli Fall 2012

Upon entering the venue for the Just Cavalli Fall 2012 presentation during Milan Fashion Week, the first thing I saw was the animal-print lined runway.

The presentation started off with zebra prints, a mix of dark colours with pops of orange and red before moving onto nude and a finale of leopard prints which sent my heart a flutter.

With the inspiration being London’s ‘Swinging Sixties’, we saw mini dresses for the young and leggy. Super-skinny pants, floaty chiffon dresses, slouchy leather pants, cable-knit sweaters, metallic blazers, long-sleeve drop-waist dresses, oversized wool coats, and capes, including an animal-print hooded cape which was one of my favourite pieces of this collection.

Key accessories included Mary Jane shoes and ankle boots with stiletto heels and boots completely covered with glitter or in patent laser treatment to give the effect of lace, plus large and small bags which were also covered in glitter.

Who I See Wearing This Collection: Fergie, Paris Hilton, Kat Graham, Rihanna and Demi Lovato
